Atif Aslam releases Rafta Rafta ft. Sajal Aly

Atif Aslam releases his much-awaited track Rafta Rafta on Wednesday, featuring the very gorgeous and talented Sajal Aly. The song has already crossed a million on YouTube and trending on number 4 in music. Atif Aslam’s vocals are a treat, however, Sajal Aly was the highlighting element, there is no denying it. However, this would not be Atif’s best song for us. Here’s why,

The very Bollywood-touched melody

Written by Raj Ranjodh, Rafta Rafta is a romantic ballad, but the very first impression gives off a – little too much – Bollywood vibe, where you could feel that it has been layered with a lot of Bollywood tunes. Atif Aslam’s voice quality is different not just in Pakistan but in India too, making him a lone bird flying solo at a certain musical altitude, but this is his original song which lacks originality.

No connection of emotions

Regardless of how emotionally well established and ‘connected’ the music video is [will come to it later] Not once Rafta Rafta created a connection through its music, melody, or lyrics for us. Even though his last release ‘Dil Jalane Ki Baat‘ was a mesmerizing song, – still giving Atif an edge of rendition, because his original, ‘Raat’ was also so-so track – Rafta Rafta didn’t touch the strings of our hearts. With clichéd lyrics, it is just one of those tracks that detract from what Atif Aslam is genuinely able to do.

The transcendently impressive music video

So let’s talk about the ‘oh-so-gorgeous music video. Featuring Sajal Aly, the song has been released under the label of Tarish Music and directed by Hassam Baloch. The music video shows Sajal Aly and Atif Aslam’s chemistry to its finest. The three and half minute fairytale shows the duo staring into each other’s eyes, makes it dreamier. Sajal’s charming self is gorgeously paired with Atif Aslam was a treat to watch. The two are seen sharing gaze in the backdrop of Skardu to enjoy stars and camping together alongside a beautiful lake. Furthermore, ending up in a romantic dinner where Atif proposes to Sajal makes the entire video even mesmerizing. The cinematography of the song was captivating. Moreover, Sajal’s innate beauty and innocence won the music video through and through. And had it not been for this music video the song would’ve reached the lowest.
