Famous playwright, novelist Haseena Moin aged 79 passes away in Karachi after battling cancer for a long time. Fans and actors are sad and offering condolences to her family.

Who doesn’t know Haseena Moin? If you have watched Ankahi, Dhoop Kinare, or Tanhaiyaan, you might be familiar with the name. Haseen Moin passes away in Karachi today has saddened the actors’ fraternity.

Haseena Moin – A writer, a gem!

Haseena Moin was a Pakistani drama writer, playwright, and novelist. Born and raised in Kanpur and received her early education in her ancestral region. She then moved to Karachi in the 1950s where she graduated from the Government College for Women. And after that, she received a Masters’s degree in History from Karachi University in 1963.

She wrote notable plays for stage, radio, and television. Some of her famous works include Ankahi, Tanhaiyaan, Kiran Kahani, Dhoop Kinaray, Aahat, Shehzori, Kasak, Des Pardes, Aansoo, Bandish, Kaisa Yeh Junoon, Dhundle Raaste, and more. Her dramas are still remembered, loved, and cherished by viewers and fans. She introduced originally written dramas in Pakistani industry. Moin also was a recipient of the Pride of Performance award for her contribution to the performing arts in Pakistan. She is one of the most renowned playwrights of the industry.

Tribute to the gem

Haseena Moin was battling breast cancer for a few years. The unfortunate demise of Haseena Moin has spread a wave of sadness among fans and even the actor’s fraternity. Moin’s funeral prayers is going to held after Namaz-e-Asar in the Nazimabad area of Karachi.

MNA Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Andleeb Abbas shared a tribute to the late artist. Furthermore, she tweeted, “What a loss…Haseena Moin who created such world-class life stories is no more…She gave women a new empowered strength and made Indian Bollywood pale in comparison…Her legacy will remain.”
