Cristiano Ronaldo starts training for Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo has trained with the rest of Manchester United’s first-team squad for the first time since being barred from playing against Tottenham. Ronaldo was left out of the squad to face Chelsea at the weekend after telling Erik ten Hag he wouldn’t come on as a late substitute in Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Tottenham.

Ten Hag then told Ronaldo he would not be considered for the weekend. Furthermore, ordered him to train separately from the rest of the squad. This happened after the 37-year-old walked down the tunnel before full-time and left Old Trafford.

United’s players have had two days off since the 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Saturday, and they only returned to Carrington on Tuesday to begin preparations for the Europa League game against Sherrif Tiraspol on Thursday.

Ten Hag and Ronaldo have spoken since the incident last week, and the manager is delighted to welcome Ronaldo back into the squad as a result of those discussions. Last Thursday, the forward took to social media to explain his actions the night before, but he did not apologise.

Ronaldo will play against Sherrif Tiraspol on Thursday, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, and Donny van de Beek have all returned to training.
