PSL 2021 moved to Dubai?

On Monday it is announced that the Pakistan Super League PSL 2021 appears to be moved to the UAE from Karachi after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) got permission to do so from Emirati authorities. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is aiming to wrap up the tournament by the 20th of June, with the national players not having any commitment until July. Pakistan, who recently completed a successful tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe, is on a two-month break. However, it is not clear yet whether the matches will be played in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. The UAE authorities have made it mandatory for all players and officials to undergo a 10-day quarantine.

Sources revealed that all the players will undergo Covid-19 test on May 18. And in case of a negative Covid-19 test, the players will submit their passports.

PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan statement on the remaining matches PSL 2021

In the meeting that happened in Lahore on a Zoom call for the remaining fixtures, Wasim Khan said, “We had an interactive and productive meeting in which we considered a number of factors. While the UAE has emerged as a preferred venue, a number of challenges remain, which will be worked through over the coming days. We remain committed to doing everything possible to complete the HBL PSL 6.”

Only 14 matches of the tournament had been played when coronavirus hit some of the participants. Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi led the points table with six points each. Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars also had six points each but had played only four matches.

Rashid Latif claimed the same for PSL 2021

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif also claimed in the past that remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 will take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The analyst took to Twitter and posted,

PSL 2021 postponement due to bio-secure bubble breaches in March

The Pakistan Super League PSL 2021 season was suspended due to the sudden surge in the number of Covid-19 cases. Some bio-secure bubble breaches were also found by some of the team members during the matches. PCB said that the decision was taken “following a meeting with the team owners and considering the health and wellbeing of all participants.” The prime focus for the board and the organizers is the “safe and secure passage of all participants, and arrange repeat PCR tests, vaccines and isolation facilities to the six participating sides.”
