The second over!

With his dismissal of Babar Azam for 10 in the second over, Kumar established the tone for India’s hegemony and finished with stats of 4-26. Pandya’s three wickets shook Pakistan’s middle order.

When India decided to bat first, Rizwan was almost given out by Kumar on the second delivery. However, the wicketkeeper-batsman successfully appealed the call. The format Azam got things started with a boundary in the first over. But his stay was brief as Kumar quickly removed him at short fine-leg.

After being smashed for a six and four by Rizwan, pace bowler Avesh Khan retaliated by forcing Fakhar (10) to edge the ball faintly behind. The Indian fielders did not protest and did not rejoice until Fakhar left, much to his partner’s astonishment.
