Covid-19 and the revival of Pakistani movies

Since the Covid-19 protocols have been gradually lifted over the last few months, cinemas have experienced a resurgence. There’s a long list of Pakistani films set to hit theatres this year, and the list now includes the romance-thriller Abhi, starring Kubra Khan and Goher Mumtaz, for which a teaser was recently published.

Abhi – the movie

On March 25, Khan and Mumtaz shared a video teaser on Instagram to mark the imminent release of Abhi. The picture appears to be a mixture of thrills, espionage, and romance. Mumtaz runs through snowy woodland while being pursued by townspeople in one scenario. Another scene depicts a brief confrontation with the soldiers. Mumtaz was the one who came up with the story for the movie so this project is double special for the artist.

The gorgeous music lineup

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Tanya Wells, Aima Baig, Nish Asher, and himself all have songs in the film, according to the actor. Mumtaz believes that the songs he sings will be “a treat” for all Jal (the band) fans, and he is looking forward to it. Leo twins, multi-instrumentalists, also contributed to the film’s soundtrack.

Abhi movie cast

Adnan Shah Tipu, Marhoom Ahmed Bilal, Irfan Motiwala, Zaryab Haider, Qaiser Shahzad, and Waseem Ali are among the film’s cast members, in addition to Khan and Mumtaz. Asad Malik directed the film, which was produced by Ali Chaudhry. Shoaib Rabbani and Mansoor wrote the screenplay and dialogues for the film.
